I know you must be sick of hearing me say this, that what I’ve been up to is Farmville and Treasure Madness and I spend my whole life farming and treasuring away. But hey, I’m not all that. I’ve been really studious and supger (super mugger). 3 days week rock because even when I spend Thursday Friday and Saturday slacking and nuaing the day away, I still have the whole of Sunday to get work done. :D

I think I update my NM blog more often than this.

Alright, back to Treasure Madness for now. :)

Perhaps there is no start to this conversation. Roll the dial across every frequency from right to left and back again. The hiss and buzz of amplitude modulation with occasional focus on something intelligible. Four bars from an old song. The answer to an unknown question. An opinion offered to a midnight audience of five. Phonemes scattered on the speaker dancing secret messages into the passenger seat.

If, perhaps, there were more to say tonight, I would find myself curled around the steering wheel, resting on your wrist. And all the other secret places you never thought to lie about.

I now have a Class 3c license meaning I can drive a manual car or an auto car with ease. It also means I can maneuver a car across an S-course and a crank-course without mounting a curb. It also means I can do vertical and parallel parking with poles. Except there are no poles in any parking lot in Singapore. But according to my mum, a car has 4 passenger seats, so I should fully utilise it and drive 4 friends. These friends will come in handy when I’m doing parking, because they’ll alight and be the 4 poles so I can judge from my mirrors properly.

Nope not my idea. My mum’s.

Luckily for me, I passed with much ease because my tester is a really nice old man and not one of the really scary looking ones I spotted. Some of them really look like we killed their dads, except their dads are older than our dads, or our granddads. Nevermind. Like I said, my tester was really nice and although I went into the car and was on the brink of freaking out (to the point I tried starting the car in 5th gear), he told me not to be nervous and all went well after that. :)

Thanks Yap for coming over to support me! And Priscilla for your goodluck message. :)

For celebration, Yap and I headed to sashimi buffet and yeaaaaaaaa it was really good. Utils baozha. Then we walked around to digest the insane amount of food we ate, before catching Law Abiding Citizen. It’s a really good show with a really lousy ending. Leave 10 minutes before the show end (when the find the bomb at City Hall) and imagine your own ending because you’ll be so disappointed with the ending! And then.. we had ice cream in waffle bowl at Somerset 313 before heading home. :)

Sleepyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I’ve been watching Temptation of Wife for 10 hours running now. It’s crazy but I can’t stop watching. The DVD just runs on and on and on and on. I think I’ll start seeing Aili and Encai everywhere. ._.

There’s lots to talk about but I don’t know where to start.

On the first Saturday of 2010, S18 had a gathering at Sentosa so we went there to get fried. We played Frisbee monkey in the horrendous sun, and then played orientation games while soaking in the sea. I can’t stand Singapore waters, why is it so dirty!

Getting into Sentosa!

Girls groupshot, on the tram because we can't walk anymore!

That's us while Hongjie is being thrown into water willingly.

Bug's awesome photography skills caught Hongjie's legs in the air!

The group photo, pretty good turnout this time round!

Photos here on Facebook album One Day. It’s called one day because that’s how all Hongjie’s jokes start aha. Racist jokes ftw.

Four days later, I head out to Barrage to get myself fried again.

Naomi happy with her doughnut!

Naomi exasperated that the kite won't fly ):

This kite is so horrible, the string is shorter than my palm!

And we finally got it in the air!

The aftermath, one of the kites we had turned into a bob of mess.

Naomi's awesome jump shot captured by the awesome me!

Group shot :)

See the rest of the photos here. A Day of Too Much Sun.

And then it was celebrating Yap’s birthday. He’s 22 and born in January so he’s not a dragon but a rabbit. We had some really good charcoal baked pizzas at Spizza across a really really long table.

Yap with the presents I got him <3

These are the people on my left...

...and these are the people on my right.

Few of them attacking a poor pizza!

Yap's and my smoked salmon pizza!

The birthday boys, they share the same birthday!

The birthday boys and their respective girlfriends :)

Their attempted boyband shot aha.

I've to finish blogging quickly so I can concentrate on watching TOW!

DBL

Group shot. :)

All photos here on Facebook.

Okay I’m done I’m done. Back to Temptation of Wife. Update again soon! :)

Like everybody else every other year, I’ve new year resolutions too. No they never ever happen but I’ll still make them anyway. We need goals in life. :)

In 2010, I’ll

1. Reach level 60 in Farmville. I can’t believe this tops my list. LOL. I’m currently a level 40 and it’s going to take forever to level up aha.

2. Cap >4.0 this!

3. I need to work/save and Europe backpack when I graduate! All my future pa-tuoing will be in Johor from now on!

4. Quit gambling. Ogay I say this every year but it never happens. There’s CHINESE NEW YEAR. What’s there to do on CNY other than Mahjong and daidee. Speaking of Mahjong, I want to play Mahjongggggg.

Actually that’s about it. There’s really nothing much I want to improve on my life right now. Life’s gooood. :)

I say, 2009 had been good for me. Maybe it was all the new things (+20 Mood if I’m playing Sims). The first half of 2009 was spent working at Starhub and getting to know a whole bunch of wonderful colleagues that are really fun people. They make the working adult life seem much less daunting and very inviting. There were annoying moments when I dread getting out of bed early morning and crawling to work but the people there are so nice! I miss the yam ring so much. :)

2009 was also when I learned the real significance of responsibilty. I’ve had part time jobs before, but none were for like 8 months straight. It’s surprising how dilligent a worker I really am (sounds doubtful I know) and I never came to appreciate how well I work under stress (or the lack thereof) until I stopped working. I think I’m secretly a extreme workaholic, HAHAHAHAHA okay that sounds funny.

Come June, I stopped working and started the average uni life. I was totally looking forward to it, maybe because it’s been 8 months since I was a student and I miss student meals. LOL okay that’s not the point. The point is returning to school sounds so exciting. And unlike many of my friends, I’m enjoying uni alot. I like the flexible timetables, and more than anything I like the fact that how you fare in one semester is not going to be carried forward to the next. True enough, your final cap is going to be an average of all the caps in your semesters, but at least what you learn in the next semester is not entirely based on your knowledge of the previous one. That helps alot for me! :)

AND I’m totally glad I’m in FASS because it’s like finding my true calling. I think I won’t be as sorry a person if I’ve taken Arts back in JC. Formula, equations, numbers and symbols just don’t click with me. That’s work for the FTs and occasional really smart Singaporeans to handle. :)

I don’t have many university friends, but I’m glad for a special few that adds much joy to my life. ;)

That’s you, Yap. :)

2008 ended faster than 2007 did, and 2009 ended faster than 2008 did. I think it always happens, how every year seems to pass quicker than ever. I’m almost 20, I’m just beginning to come to terms with that. How scary is it to think just two or three more years all of us will be scouting for jobs around Singapore? I am not entirely ready for the society (how scary people make it sound!) but it’s not like I have a choice. We can’t disable aging like we can in Sims, lol.

I hope 2010 will be as good, if not better than 2009! :D

My clothes keeps disappearing. :( I’ve lost two shirts I really liked already (probably more, I’ll only realise like much later). It’s funny, HOW DO YOU LOSE CLOTHES. I wear them (no they don’t disappear while I’m wearing them ._.), I change out of them afterwards, they go to the laundry, and then they disappear! D:

And nobody knows where they went to, nope not to the wrong wardrobe, not stashed somewhere at home, NOBODY knows! And it can’t be stolen because I live on the 9th floor. ._. Unless Spiderman steals clothes. Unless Spiderman exists.

This sucks. :(

On Christmas this year, Yap and I had plans, but nothing seemed to work because we’re in Singapore, and Singapore is so crowded just thinking of the crowds give me a headache.

Anyway, our day started at Novena because we wanted to go play Wii at St Games!

That’s Yap getting peach yami yoghurt!

That’s us. I think my face looks really small next to his, but I didn’t really lean backward. So, Priscilla I think the secret to having a small face in photos is to take photos with people with big heads. So you should always take photos with Jiahao!

Yap with his present and Christmas card!

That’s me with the popup card and the awesome tamagotchi! It’s in colour and it’s super duper cute with lots of things to do and unlock! :D

And then.. we headed to St. Games to find that it’s not open on Christmas Day. Meh, but the person told us they “should be” open when Yap called the other day. Ohwells.

Hence we moved on to next-in-plan. We went to National Museum to see the Egyptian exhibition.

Going into the museum!

To our horror, the place is so crowded because it’s free entry on Christmas Day. Tsktsk Singaporeans. The queue to go into the Egyptian gallery is so baozha long we could only visit the other smaller galleries with fewer people.

And then we left that place because the crowd was making me really really sick. Anyway, it’s free entry to National Museum for students so we can always revisit another time for the other exhibitions. :)

And then.. we headed to Plaza Sing where we sat down at Bao Luo Wan Xiang for some dimsum. No photos because I forgot to take them lol.

Then we toured Spotlight but to our dismay, all the fugly stuffs are gone after the renovation, so nothing to laugh at. :(

And then we discovered this awesome place right next to Spotlight!

The tea there is really good! Plus the place is not crowded at all! How rare it is on Christmas Day!

Yap likes sugar cubes alot. He thinks it’s very classy aha!

Our tea and the very good cupcake! :D

Yummy!

:)

And then.. we headed to Vivocity and man that place can fit 2147107581246982619124 people. It’s SO crowded I feel like I’m going to be pushed over the railings and fall to death. We managed to squeeze to Starbucks where we sat down and tide things over HAHA.

Then it was dinner time and we had the highlight of the day! Bistro One Zero Three!

This place totally rocks! It’s in an obscure corner of Harbour Front and the food served there is great! It has a great homely feel to it and it doesn’t feel like Singapore at all! Well, not until a Singaporean family with three little boys came in and destroyed the moment. But ohwell, we had our moment and it was truly awesome.

:)

Escargots cooked in white wine sauce. This is totally awesome to the max! It’s really really really gooooooood. I can’t tell you how good it is but it’s Seriously Good.

I can eat this alllllll dayyyyyyyyy!

My salmon and crabmeat pasta. It’s alright but I love the salmon! :)

Yap’s pork ribs that was super tasty! Not to mention the portion is hugeeeeeee.

And then we ended our day and went home because we still have volunteering early next morning. :)

I <3 Christmas! :D

On Tuesday, I went JB with 5 friends to grow fat. The amount of food we ate was incorrigible. I was so full that I ate only wanton mee and popcorn for the whole of Wednesday.

Our day started with lunch at City Square. I can’t stand it, why is food so cheap at Malaysia?

Yap’s sushi meal.

My sashimi meal whose sashimi tasted like pirated sashimi. We speculated that it’s tuna painted orange.

Random pikachu that’s on fours at City Square.

And then we walked around more and laughed at horrendous looking Santa and Christmas decor. We got tired and went to Seasons, which is exactly like Swensen’s except they got horribly slow service and it’s called Seasons. Lol. It was Tuesday and it was Earthquake Day, so Earthquake was going at 50% off the already very low price.

Hence we ordered a large earthquake.

Eight scopes of joy, but the yam we ordered didn’t come! :( The bill adds up to SG$1.50 per person. WHY SO CHEAP.

Steph with a shiny nose!

That’s when Gabriel took out Sushi King’s menu and we were wtfffff, he stole the menu from earlier. LOL. That just adds to his collection of things that people won’t steal but he did. (He stole a skeleton’s arm from Night Safari the other time during Halloween… which he left on a SBS bus to scare people.)

And so yes, he stole Season’s menu too. LOL.

Yap in a telephone booth. :)

And then we got bored of City Square so we took cabs to Holiday Plaza.

Where we headed to KFC to eat again.

KFC is served on plates there and I thought the chicken was nicer. The coleslaw was much better too! :)

And then we walked around Holiday Plaza which is like pirated kingdom. Clothes sold there was whatmarshmellows. It has to be where all ahlians and bengs get their fashion sense from.

When we got tired from walking again, we headed to a Hongkong cafe there. There’s an outlet at Bugis too I think.

Russel with the menu… that Gabriel stole again.

Super empty place. Super cheap drinks. My iced yuanyang is like $2 ringgit. That’s what, 80cents SGD?

And then, we started playing Saboteur again.

:)

And then we headed to Da Ma Hua Yuan for the highlight of the day! Yes, dinner! LOL.

Awesome lala!

Tofu and vege! :D

The stingray was totally awesome!

And.. to top it all off, the best crayfish in the world! Cooked with crispy butter cereal bits, juicy tender crayfish pwns everything!

All done! :D

With drinks and such, the bill came up to about SGD$12 per person. That’s way too cheap for a meal like this. I can’t stand it, I’m missing the lala and crayfish already!

That’s Gabriel with all the souvenirs he stole for the day!

View all the photos in the facebook album here.

I’m so tired even after 12 hours straight of sleep. Aha. Caught Sherlock Holmes sneaks yesterday and how should I put it? It’s alright but it’s not awesome. Yap likes it but I don’t. :)

Christmas tomorrow yay, can’t wait! :D

I don’t know, is 3.9 good?

I guess I had my expectations too high, the only A I got was from Econs, aha dejavu. Two B+, one B and one B-. No I didn’t get A for the awesome New Media, what went wrong? :(

But then again, 3.9 is only 0.1 away from 4.0, and I was expecting a 4.0, so I guess I’m not that far off. It’s the shortage of As that makes me sad.

BUT I must say, this must be Guanyingma’s way of telling me my major. I’ll take this as a sign Do Not Think of Majoring Anything Other Than Holy E.

All those who didn’t do well, life’s like that, try harder next time!

On Wednesday, Yap and I visited the MINT museum of toys after my driving lesson!

Tickets go at $15 but because we were students, we got our tickets at 50% discount! :D

Awesome old school toys aside, there are tons of robots! Duper cute please.

Meet Robin. This is the robot Yap got me. It walks and it plays the drum, thanks Yap! :D

Yes, this fat barbie in an aeroplane costs US$4000. :O

And this one US$5000. Thus I conclude the owner of the museum must be some really really rich dude.

Yap getting amazed. Lol no, I made him pose for this picture.

Did you know Astroboy was actually Astrogirl? The Japanese actually created a her not him, but they thought it’ll be weird so they changed her to him and kept Astrogirl as Astroboy’s sister.

That’s Tintin right?

That’s us and giant Popeyes.

Popeyes characters. That’s Bluto, not Bruno!

These are the evil Mickey Mouse that the British made in the past to mock America’s success in establishing Disney. That was before things like copyright and trademarks existed of course.

Some extremely racist toy.

Betty Boop!

Some really weird baby toy. Yap says they only had enough money for the head.

5 levels of awesome displays, there’s so many you can never finish seeing everything!

A really ugly Santa.

Us with the Santa on display outside the museum. :)

:)

Worth a visit if cute things make you happy! Oh, and catch Avatar in 3D if you haven’t already done so. It’s easily one of the best movies ever! Pwnage graphics, it’s amazing how beautiful surreal worlds get. <3
